How to Make YouTube Autoplay on Your Website

You've thought about it long and hard and you've decided that you want to make YouTube autoplay on your website. You realize that some people find this annoying but you feel that for this particular website - it's the right thing to do. But HOW do you do it - that's the question you're asking yourself. You thought it would happen automatically because all the videos autoplay in YouTube itself - but now you hear that that is not the case when you embed one of the videos into your website...

Never fear, it's really quite simple!

First of all you need to find and amend the code for the video you want to use. Now, I know this sounds a bit techie but it is NOT difficult - I promise! Here is what you need to do:

1. To the right hand side of the video in YouTube you will find the code you need to embed that video in your website.
2. Copy the code and paste it into Notepad or somewhere similar.
3. Very carefully delete everything before
4. Then delete everything after embed
5. In the middle of the code, in the unique YouTube details, you will find 1
6. Insert &autoplay into the code immediately before

Right, that's the code amended. Now you need to embed it into your website as follows:

1. Go to your Web Editor (eg Kompozer) and open the page you want to add the video to.
2. Type a row of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx where you want the video to be.
3. Go to the source code, find all the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, highlight them and paste in the amended code for the video.
4. Remember to Save and Publish to the Web.
