Domains in cPanel
cPanel lets one hosting account do more than serve a single site. The Domains section is where you add subdomains, host additional websites, and set up redirects.
Subdomains
A subdomain is a section of your site at a prefix, like blog.your-domain.com or shop.your-domain.com. To create one, open Subdomains (or Domains), enter the prefix, and cPanel creates it with its own folder inside your account.
Addon domains
An addon domain lets a single account host a completely separate website on its own domain name, with its own document root. This is how one hosting plan can serve several brands or client sites. Open Addon Domains, enter the new domain and the folder it should use, and point that domain’s DNS to our servers.
Redirects
A redirect sends visitors, and search engines, from one URL to another. Open Redirects, choose the source and destination, and pick the type:
- 301 (permanent) passes SEO value and is the right choice for moved or retired pages.
- 302 (temporary) does not pass value and suits short-term redirects.
Use 301 whenever a change is permanent, so rankings follow the new URL.
Link cloaking
Cloaking masks a destination URL behind one of your own (often for affiliate or tracking links), so visitors see your domain rather than the long target. It is available alongside redirects in cPanel.
