Creating an email account
- In cPanel, open the Email section and choose Email Accounts.
- Click Create, enter the address you want and a strong password, and set a mailbox size (quota).
- Save. The address is ready to send and receive immediately.
Checking your mail
You have two options:
- Webmail: go to
your-domain.com/webmail, sign in with the full address and password, and read your mail in the browser. - A mail app (Outlook, Apple Mail, your phone): add the account using the IMAP settings shown in cPanel under Connect Devices. IMAP keeps your mail in sync across devices.
Autoresponders
An autoresponder sends an automatic reply, useful for holidays or to acknowledge enquiries. In the Email section, open Autoresponders, click Add Autoresponder, write your message, and (optionally) set a start and stop time.
Controlling spam
cPanel includes SpamAssassin, which scores incoming mail and filters likely spam. In the Email section, open Spam Filters, enable it, and adjust the sensitivity threshold: a lower number is more aggressive. You can choose to tag suspected spam or discard it automatically.
