What is the hub-and-spoke model?

The hub-and-spoke model is the structure behind the pillar-page and topic-cluster framework. A comprehensive pillar page (the hub) gives a broad overview of a core topic — for example, /crm/ — and links out to all its cluster pages. The cluster pages (the spokes) are deep dives on specific subtopics — such as /crm/implementation/ and /crm/migration/ — and each links back to the pillar and, where relevant, to related spokes. This reciprocal internal linking, reinforced by a clean URL hierarchy and descriptive anchor text, moves a site beyond isolated keyword targeting toward demonstrable topical authority, which is what modern, AI-driven search rewards.
